I love chicken; there, I said it! Some people think chicken is bland as, after all, “everything tastes like chicken,” but if you cook it properly and especially in a slow cooker, chicken can be super-tasty.
I think chicken gets a bad rap because it’s so low in fat and most people chose chicken breasts which are leaner still. I, on the other hand, much prefer chicken thighs as the fat content is a little higher, the meat is darker, and it just tastes better.
Even the “fatty thighs” are still low in fat which means chicken is the perfect weight loss food. It’s also pretty cheap which is an extra bonus if, like me, you don’t like to waste money on unnecessarily expensive ingredients.
Because chicken is very versatile, you can use it in most meat-based slow cooker recipes. With very few changes, you can replace beef or pork with chicken and your meal will come out fine. However, instead to looking at chicken as an acceptable alternative to other meats, why not celebrate it by cooking recipes specifically designed for chicken?

Using a slow cooker makes all the cooking experience more enjoyable because you can see the progress through the glass lid. You can also start the slow cooker and meanwhile do other tasks while slow cooker does his magic.
